I don't think that's wild. But IMO the real moat in M365 is that it also bundles Microsoft Entra ID (formerly AAD) licenses and it's strongly integrated to it + SharePoint. This way you can have "basic IT stuff" you

Rest in peace. For anyone feeling like revisiting DBZ as an adult, I recommend watching "Dragon Ball Z: Abridged" on YouTube. Starts slow / amateurish, but oh boy it gets brilliant eventually.

I've had an intern uploading code to his G Drive and after talking to him I concluded he was not malicious, just dumb. That said you can't claim innocence for not knowing some law, plus any half serious company makes you sign cybe

That's a shame. I really think the world of software infrastructure needs a "more user friendly, batteries included service orchestrator" as an alternative for K8s and public clouds offerings.

I had similar experiences. Can't understand all the hype around RAG when the results are so bad.

Just a single data point, but I had GNOME hanging and crashing in clean Ubuntu and Fedora installs as recently as 2022. I've migrated to Mint and haven't tried KDE for the last 10 years, but I would have a hard time calling GNOME

Also Plotly generates Javascript so it has wrappers for many python frameworks such as Streamlit. I'm also using it in a regular React app and it has quite decent APIs.

WSL 2 + Docker for Desktop + VS Code + Devcontainers extension allows you to create development environments that are defined by a dockerfile / docker-compose file + .devcontainer.json. Forget about configuration as code in pure Window

SQL is like regex, one of those things I will keep unlearning if I'm not using daily. Also the way each DB supports its own dialer is quite maddening.

Some open source projects hire full time developers with donations / sponsor money (e.g. python, zig). I'm not saying that's the correct approach for GTK, just noting is not an absurd idea.

I've found the 'Health > Dashboard' page on the admin portal to be the most reliable place to check for incidents: https://admin.microsoft.com/AdminPortal/Home?#/healthovervie... Some users may e

I've been waiting for a cybersecurity incident to move markets since forever. It seems consumers and investors don't really care.

That's not my experience after using AWS CDK since 2020 in the same company. Most of our code is plain boring declarative stuff. However, tooling is lightyears ahead of YAML (we have types, methods, etc...), we can encapsulate best pra

> We spent 92% of our money in 2023 on paying contributors for their time. That's really cool. Sometimes I think about donating to the PSF, but I don't really care about PyCon.

AWS is also starting to charge for public IPv4 addresses this year. Did something happen with IPv4 markets? I used to think at least cloud providers were hoarding a ton of addresses.

Most people I worked with either tell me "I don't know" or "I think x, but with not sure" when they are not sure about something, the issue with LLMs is they don't have this concept.
