If you're doing signals stuff, it can get mathy (differential equations or Fourier analysis type stuff).

He became something of a huge KiCad evangelist there a while back. I've heard that this list and Contextual Electronics are pretty good. I think he still works for parts.io too.

It is mentioned in some comments of comments further down but Wolfram Alpha has some great family tree generation. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=fourth+cousin

I think in this case, referential transparency means the same thing. That is, produce the same output given the same input, every time.

I see some people here mentioning Fourier Transforms. I'm under the impression that this only really visualizes Fourier series approximation and has nothing to do with Fourier Transforms, right?

The Palmer method, that is what I learned back in the mid-nineties in elementary school. I didn't know it had a proper name other than 'cursive writing'. Neat! Edit: Err wait, maybe not. It looks the same but so does the Zane

This is how military utility uniforms are sized: Small, Medium, Large and Short, Regular, Tall. I'm surprised that idea hasn't spread into mainstream sizing.

If you do it right, you can get a nice crack sound. I've found that I can usually get at one from a freshly washed item of clothing (and towels) and it only cracks once per fresh wash. I don't understand the mechanism that causes

You need to try one of these[1]. I finally bought one and everyone who has used it loves it, so far. I suppose it isn't really the best for putting in screws but it works wonders on any sort of drilling (bit or spade). [1] - http:

That was also my favorite part of that video. How he cuts all of his videos is very well done. And how he doesn't say anything and only demonstrates, it's very effective.

I think the GP was but I read the parent comment as just a stab at comparing and contrasting C++ and Rust. I found it useful and interesting in that aspect.

In a few meet and greets, the Atmel app engineers mentioned that they always steer people to ARM parts unless they have a requirement that absolutely doesn't fit it, then they push AVR32 parts (and seemingly hesitantly).

RIP Atmel Studios... I can only imagine how this is going to affect choosing a microcontroller in the future. When I was in school, PIC vs AVR was often debated. I also really liked the selection of ARM Cortex-M parts that Atmel offered. I

I suppose I was thinking more about the snow storms up near Lake Erie, which is only about 2 hours from Pittsburgh. Living in Erie, there was a few storms that led to I-90 having whiteout conditions and single lane traffic. Winters in Pitts

I haven't really been keeping tabs on it but I've heard from a former coworker that cross-compiling for ARM Cortex-M parts is fairly easy too.
