Low interest rates tend to just push housing prices up. The average expenditure on housing as a percent of income have been nearly constant in the US for 50 years.

If you want cross platform and bindings for many languages (a universal gui toolkit) you land on GTK. QT is close, but it's not just a gui toolkit, it's C++, and there's a bit of commercial/OSS tension. GTK has its issue

My enthusiasm for posits was never about the precision. It was due to not having signed zero, and not having NaN. Just give me the nearest representable value please. Operations on numbers should never yield results that are not numbers.

IMHO window positioning is the job of the DE, which will also mean a unified behavior for all apps. Unfortunately I've been waiting years for gnome to implement this.

I would argue that any AI that does not change when running cannot be conscious and there is no need to worry about its wellbeing. It's a set of weights. It does not learn. It does not change. If it can't change, it can't be

For CAD you can run Solvespace on a chromebook. I'm not sure I want to promote it for use below high school, as the geometry failures and their workarounds are probably too icky for younger users. I want more polish for kids.
