Usually there is no drop in salary i.e. most of these companies previously worked 5 days per week and then switched to a 4 day week without loss in salary

I think it's for a few reasons: Stigma: Much like the phrase "remote work" had 5 years ago, there is a stigma around the 4 day work week e.g. for many, it's a synonym for "laziness" Fear: if a company switches

Great to see! A no brainer imo as: - productivity increases - recruitment is easier - staff retention improves - absenteeism will reduce - employees will be happier - etc etc

Hours may correlate somewhat with output, but it's diminishing returns. We should optimise for productivity + life outside of work instead I'm glad the "I work XX hours per week" bench is slowly dying out - fools gold.

I run https://4dayweek.io and during the time I spent researching companies, it blew my mind how awful the vacation policy is in some companies (especially the US) i.e. 10 days vacation shouldn't be celebrated as a benefit.
