Just as important as chunking strategy, imo, is recombination. After you've picked the highest-scoring chunks from the search matter, how do you glue them back together? Simple concatenation is the obvious way, but I've had better

It seems to me that the main difference between chess and startups is that in chess you only have one opponent. The more opponents you have, the more likelihood that not blundering on its own is not sufficient.

I think a browser makes a GREAT personal project, because there are high-quality, public specifications for the stuff you need to implement. And these things are maintained in the open, you can even go and find meeting minutes if there are

I like to have a step zero, that comes even before you try to reproduce the issue: get your head right, essentially. If something's broken in production and the bug is hard to figure out, that often means stress. And stress is not good

Getting authorisation right with GraphQL is no different to getting it right with REST, provided you push the checks down into your data access layer. You could do that with e.g. row-level security in Postgres or with something home-baked.
