Most people describe a package room with individual lock boxes for each parcel. I was at a place where the room had restricted access (you had a one-time code and a camera scanned you as you entered). Inside was all of the packages. The

Holy jeez are there benefits to OpenSSH over PuTTY. I have to walk end users through setting up PuTTY. Since configuration uses the registry and there are no import/export configs I have to walk them through the UI, which is a mess (

I think one part is finding the right domain for innovative UI. I often see a weird UI on a tool I use once a year for a couple minutes. I would very much prefer it use the OS default, clunky UI everything else has even if it's less

I wanted to point out the different "levels" between your own local git repo and GitLab/GitHub. If you're by yourself, a local git repo is great. "One step up," would be a remote git repo you push/pull t

I'm a bit more pessimistic there will be a backlash. I've also been surprised how much a properly motivated non-techie can be. I've seen a few grandmothers who live far away purchase and setup a web cam and learn software I

Thanks for bringing up the non-techie example. Another bummer with the user generating keys, you can't validate a passphrase was used (or that a good one was used) when you just get a public key.

That's not how I read your analogy. If the tax situation made him move countries, is that country better off without their contribution? Would resolving the tax situation make that country more desirable to contribute to?

Apple Maps now shows a "Share ETA." You can slide up from the arrival time to find it after setting a destination, but it also popped up pretty prominently a few times. The only bummer (the only time I've tried to use it) i

I think it's one of those tools that everyone has their own niche use. These are for Home, not for Shortcuts or Personal automation, but my wife tends to leave the floor heaters on. So I have an automation that turns them off at 10am
