There's also the product "treadmill" for chat and video apps that Google and Microsoft have had over the past handful of years. There is buy-in even for a chat app. I often have to shuffle browsers, may or may not have to ins

The sibling comment describes the truth behind the quote, but the most famous (contemporary pop culture) source of it is the movie The Princess Bride.

I wonder if that's because of the US' relationship with philanthropy? I have no idea about the rest of the world, but with friends who teach in the US I hear about "[So and so] donated a classroom full of iPads" with no

Wouldn't whiteboard software be better? Like Khan Academy uses? I've been in some physical whiteboard video chat lectures and it's rough; they rarely have a lav mic (which means the audio quality is horrible and you have prob

The parent is one data point. Perhaps the one kid leans on school for social connections at this point in their life? Some kids are loaners (but still need social connections) others are very social. Another commenter pointed out that there

I've had the same issue spanning years. I didn't bother going further than the web UI. I would delete 100k+ messages, it would hang, and when it returned it would only have deleted like 70k.

I appreciate what you're trying to say. I believe a deferment balances the interests of the lender and lendee. If loans were frozen, why wouldn't everyone take advantage? You now need an approval process (an application, paperwork

Loan deferments are already a common practice. Even if you came up with a different accommodation, the point is that mortgages are significantly simpler to address compared to rent.

Mortgages seem a lot simpler to me. You just keep accruing interested and add payments onto the end of the mortgage. With rent there are a few issues--you just get to live there for free? Do you add rent onto the backend (good luck collec
