I just spun up a f1-micro instance. It got a public IPv4 and I was able to reserve a static IP. I did not see that IPv4s would cost extra.

As far as I can tell, this bug has nothing to do with memory-safety. And I don't think C++ is to blame here. It's just a lot of untested code. Surely even Ocaml and Haskell need tests.

The second statement is misleading at best. It suggests that QCs are some sort of parallel/faster classical computers.

The author says in a comment > If hitting exactly zero is much less probable than hitting exactly 0.5, then I would argue that you do not have a uniform distribution… But due to the non-uniformity of floating point numbers, I think the a

There are better algorithms for bootstrap intervals that you perhaps should look into. Better in the sense of quality, not speed. Google e.g. "interval BCa"

Using dual numbers and modern C++ you can write a library that can do this: auto lambda = [](auto x, auto y) { // The Rosenbrock function. auto d0 = y[0] - x[0]*x[0]; auto

Not here in Scandinavia. Many are a little worried about the Russian government, but I have never heard anything against Russians. That quote stood out for me as well.

Google has lately stressed the importance of communication apps doing only one single thing (Allo, Duo, and Messenger for SMS). But Google's competitors seem to be going in the opposite direction. Facebook messenger does SMS as well si

That's the thing, debit cards are so common in Scandinavia so many people call them "credit cards" ("kreditkort") even though they're really not.

I agree but I think it is just a way to explicitly state that this adjustment was performed and not forgotten. Better would be: "Per student spending has increased about 2.5x in the past forty years (after adjusting for inflation).&quo

Or Python. I switched from Matlab to Python and Numpy and Matplotlib and Jupyter a few years ago and haven't looked back. They really are better in many ways.

Everything is one repo at Google. So yes, it shares repo with search. :-) There are many, many servers involved to display a results page. These things probably are an RPC to a dedicated server. Haven't checked though.
