- gcp 10y agoThere's a Rust plugin for it. I don't use it though, I use Visual Studio Code as regular Visual Studio won't work on Mac or Linux. It also depends a bit on why you like Visual Studio. Because it has one of the best Intellisense implementations? Much more common outside Visual Studio for languages that are not C++... Good visual debugger? etc...
- enturn 10y agoThere is basic support for syntax highlighting out of the box in Visual Studio and more using a plugin. https://areweideyet.com/ https://areweideyet.com/
- Koshkin 10y ago> Visual Studio I am not so sure about that. C++ support in VS is rather terrible - especially when compared with support of C#. For C#, VS is excellent.
- flukus 10y agoDoesn't VS only support a really old version of c++?
- sandeatr 10y agoIt is fairly up to date actually
- pjmlp 10y agoPeople tend to compare it against gcc and clang, but it is actually the best C++ support among commercial compilers.
- pzone 10y agoNo, they keep up pretty well with the C++ spec. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/vcblog/2016/01/22/vs-2015-update-2s-stl-is-c17-so-far-feature-complete/ https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/vcblog/2016/01/22/vs-2015-u... You may be thinking of the lack of full C99 support.
