Surface Laptop 5 costs $899. Still no sign of "extra up-front cost" of Apple. For me, Surface Laptop isn't even in the running because of poor screen resolution. The old Surface Book has 3000x2000 resolution which is 200%, bu

In the last few decades, there has been an increased interest in the role of prediction in language comprehension. The idea that people predict (i.e., context-based pre-activation of upcoming linguistic input) was deemed controversial at fi

The whole "holistic review" crap should be banned. It was originally invented to reduce the number of Jewish people [1]. It is still being used for illegal or illicit discrimination of one kind or another. This article [2] says &q

Right, I would be surprised if Bing sees any sustained benefit. The search engine still sucks, and the way they integrated ChatGPT sucks even more. I use Google a lot less these days, but the beneficiary, in my case at least, is not Bing, b

You expect trillion-dollar companies to contribute to society by occasionally doing some original work. Instead, they suck the oxygen out of the room by copying market-successful ideas, thereby stifling innovators.

Looks like they are copying Notion. A lot of things have changed at Microsoft under Satya Nadella. One thing that hasn't changed is their inability to create anything original.
