(Hi, saurik!) Even TNG reimagined the technology of the future through the lens of the 80's and 90's, though. Holodecks, the Borg, Geordi's visor, Data. I think this movie could have been more forward-thinking.

Why is this app called News/YC? It seems uncomfortably close to chpwn's news:yc.

Why do mods change titles of posts? This is frequently complained about on HN, and seems unfortunate.

Both Tesla and SpaceX receive heavy government subsidy. Tesla is not operating at a profit once government subsidies and tax breaks are removed. I do not consider significant reliance on the state for funding the mark of a great entrepren

Maybe this is overly-cliche, but I would pick the answer "I write for myself". My writing is a representation of how I feel, I do it for me.

Very cool. I noticed (especially on the linked-in-another-comment detroiturbex) that there are tons of abandoned offices, buildings, libraries and schools in America. Who owns these? How difficult would it be to purchase one, and how expens

It's unfortunate that you have to apply for access. Why force people to jump through hoops? Expose this data.

COPPA doesn't seem that unreasonable. Protecting children from information disclosure while they're under the age of 13 seems very appropriate to me. Once kids are 13, they can begin to disclose at their own discretion, but before that, I c

Why do I need to go through the Django tutorial before starting "Getting Started with Django"? I thought this would be my first stop, not something after the official Polls app.

Backer rewards are (if they meet their funding goal) "You will get ___". If I don't receive it, then they should refund me. I'm not throwing money away for the sheer whim of "backing" people who won't give me my reward - I expect the reward
