I would suggest that the biggest group to mourn CRT technology would be our feline overlords. I had several cats that used to perch themselves atop a screen, trying to capture my attention and keeping warm but blocking an air vent in the pr

I recall that software developers from Firefox OS were re-tasked with adapting the phone OS to an IoT focus. So I would assume this announcement is the fruits of that side project.

KDE Neon - the bleeding edge KDE experience. It's ubuntu LTS under the covers. LineageOS - Nougat for 'obsolete' phones, though I might switch to postmarketOS if they get calls working!

Schooled in 1980s Australia, I'd never heard of the split infinitive controversy growing up; it seems a popular topic whenever Dr Pinker's name is mentioned. Roddenberry's Star Trek seems to have been groundbreaking in more w

My understanding was that Samsung (Exynos) and Huawei (Kirin) do release global models of their phones based on their own SoC for GSM markets. But they can't overlook the Nth American market where Snapdragon dominates the US with CDMA2

There's a distinction between a Qt project calling Rust code via a C ABI versus a Rust program bootstrapping Qt. The author hand-edits a C++ file, autogenerated by CMake. In that sense it still needs a C++ compiler as part of a build s

I'm not sure on the train but Spain has security scans at railway departures for long distance rail. Not as stringent as for an international aeroplane flight but, given the investment, in theory it could be.
