I don't find remote work alienating at all. Even when I'm in the office most of my meetings are over VC with other sites anyway. So... no thanks! Would rather work in comfort, silence, and near my dog.

I dunno, I disagree, this kicked off my understanding of shaders and gave me enough of a foundation to explore the unfinished topics on my own. I think it's a fantastic resource and, sure, could benefit from having its unfinished chapt

Not sure what you mean by my BS-threshold, but yes I would describe this tool as "near real time". It has too much latency to be used as a professional tool for artists, though perhaps that is not the intended audience.

...yes? If you're marketing a tool as being "real time" I'd expect it to not have this much latency (e.g. when the blue is added to the mushroom). Imagine if Photoshop made you wait a second between each brush stroke.

Coming to C++ from python had me looking for something like this for a long time, but I've come to embrace my little single-file "replit.sln" which has proven to be much more flexible anyway.

[I know this isn't the main feature of the project, but] I think if more chess clients offered the "view squares that are under attack" overlay then the world would be a better place. So many interesting, low-level casual gam

As you pointed out, you still need regular ol' quaternions if you're dealing with non-rigid transforms (e.g. in animation where there's some scaling transform involved as well)

I'm not the OP, but some personal examples: - why is little-end / big-end a thing? - why is volatile memory called volatile? and why can't we just keep that data around? - what can a 64-bit computer do that a 32-bit computer

Artifact (Steam's DotA CCG) had this at launch, it just uses Steam's marketplace. The game itself didn't do very well but the trading aspect was really seamless.

I'm working on one too! Just got to the milestone of being able to scroll the Nintendo® logo. I refer to rboy a lot, it's been helpful to see another implementation. https://github.com/percentcer/cerboy

Peter Shirley's "Ray Tracing in One Weekend" is probably the best zero-to-one introduction to graphics but it doesn't have much to do with the tooling you'd need in industry (and probably better for it!): https:&#x

I'm not sure where they're getting that "lenses in pathtracers are ignored". They most certainly are not. How would physically based path tracing even work if they were? e.g. https://blog.demofox.org/2018

There's a more detailed writeup on this technique here: http://www.extentofthejam.com/pseudo/ You can get some really cool effects with minimal code, here's a shader I wrote that makes use of it: https:/
