I think they created a specific benchmark for their use case. Maybe they even implemented part of their requirements on both stacks.

I agree with you. What i took away from that point was to leave it to an automated tool. Th Eclipse Java formatter was the first time I saw this work. Distribute the formatter settings among your team, make everyone set the "format on save"

To make something fast or to make something scale you don't need a proof. You need a profiler.

I would have liked a compatibility chart between this and the other frameworks.

I'm a bit uncomfortable with this. Who picks the people that get our help? Is it better to pick a few and fix their lives, or should we aim to slightly improve the lives of many?

Far more comments than upvotes. An article like this, fervent discussion is to be expected. Let me join in on the fun! "Science is supposed to challenge this type of quasi-mystical subjective experience, to provide an antidote to it." That

It's hard to see running a critical service over an SSH tunnel as a long-term solution. Since I'm tempted to set this up myself (not for Redis though), what is the alternative?

This comment may seem trollish or stupid, but it is what I would say to the OP if I met him in real life. If it doesn't sound nice that's because conversations aren't always nice. Stop whining. Just do whatever you want to do. As a question

This sounds a lot scarier than in actually is. It is highly unlikely that one vendor will stick with the W3C and another with the WHATWG. (Yeah, I care more about what vendors will do than what standards bodies do.) I think cross-browser co

Nothing new here. These are just someone's notes on hiring (the post does not at all deliver on the title). It's all been said before, and in better ways. Also I'm tired of the "learn C" mantra. You don't need to know this language to under

Lots of people die, lots of people have terrible diseases. And I sometimes cry when I read these stories. The amount of hurt in this world unimaginable. But most poeple don't get my money. Most also do not have a trust fund.

Sure, so let's call this button that erases your data "list files", and just very clearly document it. It's not lying if we change the definition.

Hmm, I'm guilty of most of these. So now I think they are heuristics rather than absolute measurements. And we should use them to teach ourselves something about logic, but not others.
