The new Microsoft is the same one that has been continuously and recently involved in copyright litigation. That didn't just go away overnight because they started a PR campaign.

If you spent a couple years building everything you could on top of Node and then realized you completely disagreed with some of its basic design then that would be a memorable experience. This may be hard to understand if you are still in

If this is all that's wrong with the UX, why not write two tiny one-line scripts called gerrit-submit and gerrit-review?

Not that it's necessarily better if the projects you are making take over a hundred hours to write, because it does suggest an attraction to monolithic designs.

That's a bizarre complaint. Companies like Google, Apple, and Facebook (and their CEOs) are all routinely discussed and criticized here. Nobody is "crucified" and it is in no way specific to Facebook. Nor is HN somehow unique

Growl doesn't flash red things in the terminal and nobody says you have to use Growl notifications if you don't like them, but this really has nothing to do with the usefulness of unit testing.

Virtualenv isn't supposed to handle non-Python dependencies. Why use Nix instead of containers or VMs?

To support this hypothesis, you'd have to show that some other process did make (for example) the perfect editor. Otherwise, this is not a weakness of open source.

The popular mobile platforms have never been very friendly to Python. In each case there was some conscious decision to favor specific languages very heavily rather than making it feasible to use different languages. It is hard to see how s

The guy who wants to get you ignored due to potential competition is not likely to frankly admit that you are better. He will have some excuse, like you didn't use enough design patterns.
