Wow, that's rough. Not much you can do against a vulnerability that'll destroy the trust of your entire customer base. A DDOS is one thing but I probably would have paid the millions in this case.

They might get some flack for suddenly being less open about data. Adding a [download my ratings] button on the account page seems much less ambitious than maintaining an API so that might be on the table in the future.

I agreed with your moral position that it's the players right despite the fact that it's wasteful. Your last sentence is out there though. We're talking about kids in college, no one has put a price on their intelligence yet.

Our company uses Trello and Slack. This is basically Trello + real time updates on the comments + separate user-to-user private chat. This could almost replace Trello for us but won't replace Slack. Slack also has: - very good mobile&#

Definitely. They're not required to put a "Cancel" button on the web interface. If they wanted to raise the bar on work required to cancel they could easily force people to email support rather than putting a (..fake?) button

Google Website Optimizer is still around. It's called Content Experiments now and it's under Google Analytics. Optimizely is cool because it lets you run arbitrary javascript for tests without modifying the code base in most case

np, we do a lot of other cool things with it too and more to come. For example, when you're preparing emails for each reporter we provide recommendations for which pieces of the pitch you should send to them, based off the same machine

It's no trouble at all to work on a personal branch and merge it back in once it's fixed/complete. Especially if you're planning on doing it and are using a tool like git flow.
