This is really cool - bringing the great treatment of `ack` to ls. And can confirm how fast it is! The unix philosophy is a great idea, but it doesn't really lead to a good experience. Glad people are making more integrated tools! Oh,

Not only are there definitely people who click ads, but there are people _like us_ who click ads. All the dev tool companies run ads! CircleCI runs them, but the dozen or so other dev tool companies where I know the founders or early hires

Well, the iphone... But the "cost" I'm referring to isn't just money. It's the amount of people who have done it, the expertise that's out there, the incubators, the support networks, the people willing to inve

Slight tangent here, but SV tech often gets criticized for building shit that people don't need (Juicero is a good recent example, but people said it about the iphone when it came out). The upside of all that ridiculous tech for 22 yea

As someone in this space, I think you're approach this wrong. You find early users by hand, reaching out to people you know have this problem and asking them to use the product (you would typically do this before even making it work pr

I'd love to hear more on this. Can you describe the structures in more detail? I wouldn't have expected the org itself to be anything except a shell around each successive fund. (Maybe I shouldn't have skipped this part of Ve

Good point. I'd estimate that Dave McClure's carry is worth $25m (assumptions: funds control 250m in investments, 20% carry, 2.5x returns, DMC has 20% ownership) It would be tough to get an investor to agree to give up that carry.

The question I have with all these resignations and apologies is whether the partners in question are still getting carry on their fund. Since it's not addressed anywhere, I think it's safe to assume the answer is yes. I can'

Exactly. A graphical representation and a syntactic representation of code will both have text in them. They just have different syntax for equivalent structure.

Strip out the "text" in your code and just leave the syntax - we'll see how readable that is.

The only thing that matter is validating. Don't write code if you can avoid it, try to validate for cheaper. "Will someone use this" can be better answered by calling them first, then build with their feedback.
