Real estate agents are in business for themselves (the companies they work for are really providing a federation-like environment, with shared services). I suspect many of them see themselves as entrepreneurs too.

I was going to develop an iPhone app around the 5BX/XBX programs. Related to that (and especially because I'm a Canadian citizen), I contacted the Canadian government about receiving the rights to use the information in a commercial product

I think you're most likely to succeed if you can provide a quality service in a constrained market. In my specific case, the choices available are to either go to the vendor and pay more than 100k to get all the training for 10-15 people si

Said it there, will say it here too: I’d love to see a “trip report” several months after you move in that talks about how you actually use the space, rather than how you think you’ll use the space. Just because something looks 'cool' in th

That's true from a rational perspective, but people aren't rational. They have expectations of a nice, consistent experience that doesn't bounce them from one service to another. I'm working on a business-oriented startup that requires cred

Where are you based, Dave? My day-job company is actively seeking a technical recruiter for internal and client placements. (Oh, and I should add that we're pretty damn good at communicating with the people who apply for jobs).

This is a good point. There are a few examples like this where people buy credits and they expire at some point in the future. The same can be done with a subscription credits service by tracking aging Accounts Payable.
