Agreed. However, I think the author fears that, just like smartphones, some will become socially pressured into getting one and it will cause them harm. So they're issuing a kind of public warning.

Once logged in, go to account security. There is no facility to add 2 factor auth. (as of Feb 2023) Compromising someone's registrar account and hijacking their domain(s) can have serious commercial consequences. I'd love to hear

i've wondered about this myself for a while maybe an html meta tag that blocks all XMLHTTPRequests until the user consents. i don't think it would even matter if it was browser-specific
