Maybe I misunderstand you. But shouldn't be the real opportunity be to bring people back together? Maybe a robot can take some lonely feelings away, but I doubt it will fix loneliness.

Ofcourse this depends on the kind of project, but my last experience with a big Laravel project was that I was running the project working under Apache on my local machine and the rest of the team was loosing a lot of time because Vagrant w

Maybe the designer isnt that good. But overall it's much better. And you get: Shared models with your web api, reusable business for iOS and Windows, great tools like ReSharper, and so on.

I have mixed feelings about this. Somehow people think they have the right to buy the brand they like. But this is not how the market works. You can always choose not to buy it. Don't like how Apple solders everything to the main board

Looks like environment lighting to me. I'm not sure this is the case in your example, but a lot of render engines use an environment light when rays don't detect collision. So the camera is looking at the wall of the house and bou

Isn't this just a matter of taste? There are a lot of tone mapping algorithms everybody know about. So it's just a matter of taste choosing the one you like. Edit: As far as I know render engines use the complete dynamic range unt

I was only replying to the fact that you cannot tell by top speed what runway is needed and what sound it makes.

When an aircraft is fast in the air it doesn't mean it has to be fast at the runway. For example the takeoff and landing speed of a F16 is almost the same as any other commercial plane (~270 km/h).

Yeah, Elon Musk never thought about that because he was busy landing rockets. Come on.. why do you think he did not think about that? By the way, curves in the track can eliminate this when they can slide a little. And I can imagine there a

It's funny: when I read monitors I thought about display monitors. And the same applies there: you can buy monitors that can be calibrated but surrounding light makes each monitor and each setup different. So graphic designers do the s

Profit margins on camera bodies are extremely low (for resellers sometimes around 1%). All profit is made on accessories like lenses, bags and tripods. So I can imagine that RnD is limited to chips and software instead of body work.

I like to note that a smartphone is indeed a computer with one huge difference: the phone does break more often. It's no fun dropping a $1000 phone in the toilet or down the stairs. A lot of people forget this.

I have the feeling that knowledge about bits is lacking by a lot of younger coders. And I also think this is what causes bloatware. CPUs are powerful enough to use a naive fade transition. But coders who are aware of the internal workings c
