This is hilarious -- though I have been shamed throughout my life for clutter as though it were a moral defect.

I have this, though it most often shows up as "to-do impermanence" -- I have to keep tasks very visible or they disappear. Come to think of it, I'm a bit like the guy in Memento, I even need to remind myself of the whole hist

Yes, this was my world for a number of years too. And now "suddenly", it's not. All the "niche" stuff I started hearing about in the early 2010s seems to have hit critical mass to even be the norm in boring industri

I had a similar experience. My first wife had an amazing ability to remember all kinds of details about everything. It sounds weird, but I just remember trying to do the same thing, and then I did. And now people often comment about it, but

Most likely culprits here for the discrepancy is which coffee you're using/freshness thereof, consistency of grind, and water quality (and second the JH recommendation)

Definitely, the journey is a meeting of inner state with exterior environment. I read Catcher in the Rye in my teens (but almost 50 years after first being published, in the 90s) and also found it meh.

Does spoken language have word boundaries? In my experience learning foreign languages (at the simplest levels) it sure feels like part of the difficulty comes at picking words out individually, and the pattern recognition only really kicks

I wonder if any company is successfully keeping any of its "forever" promises. ("unlimited gmail storage") -- I guess Costco's hot dog price is still holding strong.

M-Pesa was firmly established back when I met a Kenyan friend in 2013, who lives in Nairobi. It was also the first time I encountered someone who used their phone as their sole computer, for graphic design, word processing, video, etc. etc.

I worked at a tourist destination in Canada one summer during school. A foreigner came up to me and asked, "what are these beautiful birds we keep seeing?" Well ma'am, those are magpies, and we all complain about them. I st

Not a Mac user. Figured this was a new announcement. Clicked and then remembered -- I was at a "System 7" launch as a youngster, 30+ years to get a couple version would be very, very slow.
