Great find and a great read as I just happen to be implementing a version of Pac-Man in C (with a sprinkle x86 assembler) for 16 bit DOS using the original Namco graphics. The biggest problem I currently have is to find a solution to someho

There is always a new generation of gullible suckers waiting in line to be taken advance of, once I was one of them. I started smoking when I was 15. I smoked for 15 years and manage to quit 17 years ago. I can honestly say that to quit smo

I've been a professional software developer for over 25 years and in that time I have seen very few "computer science" related problems that needed solving. Sure, it depends what type of work you do. E.g. if you work on limit

Yes, I'm pretty sure you can set FT2 in a record mode and then "play" notes on your computer keyboard, but I don't think that's what OP is asking. How I understand OP's question is; you make a drum pattern in F

This tracker seems to resemble a PC tracker such as Fast Tracker II. Did Amiga play 16bit 32 channel XM files? Hardware mouse cursors on PC were fast, software (custom graphics cursors) were much slower.

With "keyboard" you mean, a musicians keyboard, right? I assume you need a midi interface to the software but I don't know of any tracker that supports midi. My personal favourite tracker is Fast Tracker II, but it also don&#

For me the page turning itself doesn't seem to be slow but choosing this gimmicky mechanism as a delivery vehicle for this kind of content is, well, a silly choice. I can't zoom in enough and when I do zoom in I can't pan aro

You might be over simplifying things a bit. Your statement might be true for "healthy bodies" but not everyone is healthy, or even has the same body chemistry. I'm by no means an expert and the subject of obesity doesn't

I think that the purpose of a design system like this is the ability to create a uniform UI over various government agencies. Not to serve as a general purpose framework.

About 10 years ago Peter Jackson made a "short" movie called Crossing the Line. It was the first real footage shot with a Red camera. It's kinda like a trailer for a movie that was never made. It clearly shows Jackson fascina

I don't believe that is the case, Those versions of DOS might ship with some version of BASIC though. GW-BASIC was/is a Microsoft product. If I'm not mistaken (or as lore tells us), the GW-B stands for Gates William Bill. :)

Up until MSDOS version 5, MSDOS was shipped with GW-BASIC. From MSDOS 5 onward it shipped with QBasic. If you can create an assembler with batch files it should certainly be possible to create one with BASIC. :) Hmm, interesting idea...

To content publishers; It's not the ads I have a problem with, it's the spy-ware tracking behaviour associated with the ads you show is the reason why I'm using an "ad" blocker.
