>Hating people for who they are or what they look like/etc isn't anything to do with politics. Of course it is. I would cynically claim that it's about one third of politics (with the other two thirds being about whining t

At least we know how to get to Mars, and roughly what new technologies we'd need for a colony. For AGI we have no clue even roughly how difficult it is. My own suspicion (and hope) is that we will eventually find we're able to bui

On one hand I'll be happy when this happens. On the other hand the huge downside is that it's not really compatible with the fresh fruit and veg section where things are sold by weight. I assume it would lead to more prepackaged f

Fines aren't a particularly effective punishment, especially when applied to people who are already struggling financially. My controversial idea is that we should be thinking more about corporal punishment as an alternative to prison

Does it prove the village is more than ten thousand years old? Or just that there was a village on the same site ten thousand years ago? I don't mean this just in a nitpicking ship-of-Theseus sense, the village could have been nonexist

What a silly point they think they're making. Nobody thinks that their country shouldn't have foreign goods . But many do think that foreign people and/or foreign cultures should stay in foreign countries.
