That's quite aside from the recent vogue for labelling all sorts of things under the ill-defined term "hate speech".
- stephenr 9y ago> What are those, if not political positions? > ill-defined term "hate speech". Um...: - Bigoted speech attacking or disparaging a social group or a member of such a group. [1] - (Sociology) speech disparaging a racial, sexual, or ethnic group or a member of such a group [2] - speech that attacks a person or group on the basis of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. [3] Notice how none of them mention anything about politics, and they're quite specific in their definition. Hating people for who they are or what they look like/etc isn't anything to do with politics. 1: hate speech. (n.d.) American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fifth Edition. (2011). - pamqzl 9y ago>Hating people for who they are or what they look like/etc isn't anything to do with politics. Of course it is. I would cynically claim that it's about one third of politics (with the other two thirds being about whining that "people like me should be given more money")
