"If you are seriously looking to make some side income, and potentially even quit your job, I don't think there is a better option than iOS development right now." "If you want to make more than 1K/month, then yes, it is pretty darn competi

So did anyone else look at the challenge problem, see f(n-3), f(n-2), and f(n-1), then immediately think "oh. A three element array would solve that"? Took me less than 60 seconds... I'm a little worried that I'm so good at imperative progr

It would be nice if that demo was more exciting. Also, the detail on the terrain (in the first minute) leaves much to be desired. But it's a much higher quality demo than Euclideon IMO, from a technical standpoint.

I didn't mean to imply Euclideon had dynamic shadows. I meant to imply that Euclideon are lazy and haven't implemented dynamic shadows yet. There's no fundamental reason why dynamic shadows wouldn't work in voxel engines. But whether you b

Because Euclideon's demos haven't featured any dynamic objects. IMO they're doing the graphics industry a disservice by putting out demos of a half-finished technology in their rush to "be the first". The technology can work, but Euclideon

Not really. Physics is computed against low-resolution polygon representations. You don't want to compute physics against your art representation, because it's typically over-described.

They can be, and that's likely how it will work. Triangle animated characters + voxel static world.

That's like saying Megatexture isn't impressive since most of the texture detail is copied over and over.

Dynamic shadows work in exactly the same way as they do for standard triangle rasterization. Each light has a shadow map (which can be thought of as "the depth of the scene, from the point of view of the light"). During the final rasterizat

Most of those aren't actual studies. Some of them aren't even links. Others are broken links. (#17)

Airbnb saying the word "funding" to EJ was damning. But they didn't just do that. They asked her to shut down her blog post, or put a positive spin to "complete the story". And they did that because they were more concerned about their f

Of course the event itself doesn't mean anything. It's how Airbnb handled it that means something. IMO, the fact that Airbnb said the word "funding" to the victim is pretty damning.

You're right. But what you're missing is, it's not rash to be extremely upset in this situation. A woman's house was destroyed. Airbnb's response was to worry primarily about how she might impact their funding. Personally, I don't want to
