I agree that we shouldn't be looking at it in terms of hours, but I don't know if it can be measured in terms of happiness (as the author seems to be indicating) either. What are your goals? What is it going to take for you to achieve those

Never did I suggest the world was fair or that trust fund babies don't have a better chance at a high income than someone born into a iron-workers family. I was suggesting that there's good money to be made in every discipline - you may nee

Money is about being good at something. I know of lawyers that barely scrape by on insurance law suits because all they know how to do is prey on the fear and pain of injured people. Such lawyers have to buy $500 suits and drive BMWs and be

Actually, that's exactly what it means. Demand = consumption. Opportunity for growth and growth are not the same thing. I think Twitter has opportunity for growth, but that's not to say they will definitely execute on it.

Didn't know about the polling app that Google has. That's great. Seems to me like Twitter still has a lot of opportunity for growth in the US, if these numbers are to be believed.

I switched from Windows to Mac in 2004 when I started college. A year after I graduated, I switched to Linux, and I haven't looked back - and this article illustrates the reason as well as anything. The lifecycle for Apple devices are far s

This is exactly why a service like this needs to be crowdsourcing gifts. We don't need another wishlist - we need a way to turn the 7 giftcards and 6 sweaters you get for Christmas every year into one iPad or two plane tickets to Hawaii.

Tax simplification doesn't win votes. A complicated tax system does win votes. Is your campaign weak with car wash owners? Add 2k lines to the tax code and make washing your car at a car wash tax deductible. Can't seem to get over the hump

Apple is the worst example that you could use. Steve Jobs never wrote single line of code! He didn't solder a single chip into a single iPhone. Nor was he the lead product designer, the lead ad man, or an expert in any field EXCEPT dealing

I can't think of anything in software lagging as much as personal finance. I use GNUCash, which is a glorified balance sheet, and my online bank accounts. This sucks, but only slightly less than Mint which sucks slightly less than Quicken.
