I wouldn't say that DevOps is dead. Just that some companies can survive without it. It is the type of thing that is good to have. Not absolutely required. You tend to miss it most when things go wrong lol

Good point! The tricky thing is that even desktop apps today tend to have online backends to store data and analytics. So it would be a matter of building/searching for apps that are 100% local.

It may be more complex than this. If long-term were taxed as short-term there would be no incentive for long-term holding. Thus, increasing short term trading which would have some effect on the market. Likely that of increasing volatility.
