Dplug has two commercial users, you'll find the only opinion that is not mine here: http://www.modernmetalproduction.com/dplug-developing-vst-pl... It's designed to be easier than Iplug in practice, however there

1. Dplug is using software rendering not OpenGL. Get your facts straight before "calling out" people on the Internet. So the OpenGL driver doesn't matter in any way. By the way, many audio plugins now use OpenGL, just not tho

For music software you would need script nodes right away. There isn't one single way to implement filters, compressors, etc. Perhaps that's not the focus of the API.

It's still early beginnings for carbon capture. If you have money, by funding ClimeWorks and such you encourage further research on this topic.

Can't upvote this enough. If you are using spinlocks because "mutexes are slow", please reconsider since the contended case makes much more sense with mutexes than spinlock, and the uncontended case is exactly the same.

The VST SDK is dual-licensed with GPL so the black room implementation is now moot.

Can't be used because it's GPL and most plugin makers sell closed-source plugins. We actually have quite a lot of R&D in some algorithms.

So, millenials are much more pragmatic and won't buy things that have zero value in a world that heats up too fast?

There is an obvious reason: implementing a whole new plugin format is harder than just implementing a graphics backend for VST2. LV2 or LADPSA is only useful on Linux IIRC and that's not necessarily a huge audio market.

You still need to agree to the VST SDK terms to use this. Note that there exist other bindings for VST in Rust, Java, .NET, Delphi... you _have_ to translate part of the SDK to be able to use it from another language that C++. In essence th

Coming from Turbo Pascal TC++ was a bit underwhelming. When I tried it didn't colour syntax, there was those weird #include and compin=ling felt so slow. So my first contact with C was pretty negative :\

Yes. We parse JSON at compile-time with std.json (in D standard library). It probably wasn't even designed with that goal. From a D point of view, compile-time parsers are almost boring since anyone can write them.
