Feels like a cult, never heard a bad thing about them. Just my internal guts feeling that probably is wrong.

I trust .net staying open source as long as it brings devs to Azure. So I would say pretty much forever :)

I think that comment overestimated how much people really remember. That bartender most likely has 3 to 5 worse assholes every shift and dozen usual assholes . He is not going to remember he doesn’t care. Local non profit after 2 years most

I am .NET dev and made my living on MSFT stack. I would not say it was 180 turn on open source, more like 160 or 170 ;). Just enough so they can steer people into using Azure but not so much to still have Visual Studio leads throwing wrench

Going to be contrarian. Why not build your own hardware and run your own software on it, instead of screaming at clouds of big tech. There is Fairphone as an example so it is possible to build/buy hardware directly.

Well I did not expect the thread to be that good ... but I am definitely going to get popcorn out to eat while I read all the people telling me that :)

As an outsider I consider Canada and Australia - British Empire. Hard to think otherwise as they have the same king.

If you have short validity times for certificates it also means you have shorter CRL.

Was CRL designed with this context in mind?

CRL doesn’t suck it is just not easy problem on web scale. But seems like there is feasible solution: https://hacks.mozilla.org/2025/08/crlite-fast-private-and-co...

Problem is that you can’t create a system in vacuum. Mostly it is not like a movie where you hand pick the team for the job. Usually you have to play the cards you’re dealt with so you take whatever your team is comfortable building. Which

After reading. For a person that calls out how people are not smart the author takes quite of mental shortcuts to make his point work. NPM downloads are not equal to amount of projects as people plug in their CI/CD to download package

Odd premise is that AGI will have infinite bandwidth to deal with petty stuff like taking over menial stuff of HR departments. Current AI barely keeps up with generating funny images people ask from it :)

Still interesting part is: them trying to fix the problem - made the plane crash. Of course it couldn’t land but still, tweaking stuff while flying was ultimately causing loss of control.

Hey don’t blame developers. It is business who requests features ASAP to cut costs and and then there are customers who don’t want to pay for „ideal software” but rather have every software for free. Most devs and QA workers I know want to

It would not be a problem if we could have magic way to make CRL working on scale and not having other smaller issues.

There was an attempt doing it differently by CRL but it turns out certificate revoking is not feasible in practice on web scale. Now they are doing next plausible solution. Seems like 47 days is something they found out by let’s encrypt exp
