For what it's worth, I use Google Authenticator and Maps on my BlackBerry. Google pulled the Gmail app, but the native mail app supports Gmail quite well.

I don't know. We all have outcomes we prefer. Shouldn't we take rational actions to create those outcomes? Sure, "life is what happens while you're busy making plans," but some people do accomplish what they set out to do. I want to join

This is the age-old debate of maximizers vs satisficers: http://happiness-project.com/happiness_project/2006/06/are_y... In a nutshell, Dustin is a maximizer. Regarding flatware, my views have changed as I've grown older (I'm 26). A few y

Upvoted. This is something I've thought about as well. My general motto is "We gain nothing by denying the truth," but I've also learned that the mind can sabotage us in very subtle ways. On LessWrong, the idea is that "our brains are untru

Yup; it was an article on her work in NYMag that 'diagnosed' me. I think it was 'The Power & Perils of Praise.' I remember reading it and thinking, "holy fuck, that's me!" I think that was also when I was exposed to the "Talent Doesn't

Ignoring the semantic controversy on 'mastery' and 'expertise', here's my story. I dropped out of a CS program after first year. I was the classic case of a student who had always been told he was brilliant, so I never worked very hard. In

So why should we be paying approximately $1/repository when we don’t need all the open-source-focused features? And why does it make sense to pay per repository when the real cost is in space and IO? Our whole set of repositories probably

Happy to help! One thing that you'll love about VMs is snapshots. The ability to revert to a point in time gives you the ability to mess up without consequences. Take full advantage of this.

I've been loving Postbox. It's based on TB, but with a better UI and great Gmail/Google Apps integration. It has a free 30-day trial, and will import your accounts from TB seamlessly.
