“ We're still very unclear on the long-term effects of COVID, after all.” Nor do we know the long term effects of the vaccines. What we do know is that children have “statistical immunity” to dying from covid right now. Long term cons

Forget diesel trucks and piss, ya’ll are overlooking that urea is a major component of fertilizer. Higher urea prices->higher fertilizer prices->Less fertilizer demand->less food supply->more suffering via sick and hungry people

Good article, bad title. It’s not the price of discipline, it’s the price of enforcing discipline on others. Discipline can only be learned through personal experience, it cannot be indoctrinated as that leads to resentment. This makes sens

I like this idea. I wish insurance company management and software engineers would handle some insurance claims. The processes they create without experience are poop.

The last nail in the coffin for the argument of vaccinating young children. They have “statistical immunity” from covid itself and as this article shows, the notion that the vaccines significantly prevent transmission is fanciful at this p

I don’t disagree with any of this as it is pretty much Finance 101. But what I feel like this sort of analysis tends to lack, is that the markets have always been decoupled from “reality”. The only difference is that, historically, there

Ya’ll are overlooking the reasoning behind this for Tesla: this would make a bank more willing to give out a loan to nearly anyone, even with questionable credit, if the car assisted with its own repo. It’s a play to get more Teslas on th

They don’t need to be the underwriter to affect the underwriting process. By enabling this feature, banks could be more willing to make loans to credit challenged people, thus rendering more Tesla’s on the road.

Exactly. It’s analogous to why California and New York are now worried about not having enough energy after closing multiple nuclear power plants.

Then why are we forcing nurses that have already had covid to be vaccinated or face termination??? That makes zero sense during a f*cling unsolved pandemic.

No, it does not just apply to the vaccinated because South Africa is largely unvaccinated but yet are not experiencing any increase in hospitalizations or mortality, they are actually seeing a decline. https://www.washingtonpost.
