I disagree. I’ve recommended ProtonMail to many novice users and helped them get setup. It is so simple that I suspect many less technical users are using it in countries with oppressive regimes.

The deterrent and long term way to keep patients safe is not just the 4 years in prison, it is losing his medical license in perpetuity throughout the USA. Not sure if his sentence includes this but it should be in public records. My PCP in

Any chance of adding direct upload over a lightning cable instead of over WiFi? WiFi’s not working for me, though the same http server over WiFi function works fine to load music to VLC iOS. I even tried the Tiny Loader app on macOS but sti

This is exactly right. Consumers could organize a week without Facebook event, including deleting the app from their devices. If a significant number of people participated, FB would get the message.

Would love to see a browser ask which search engine to use at at first launch and at every major version update. The list could be randomized as to not favor any.

There are so many options for very small and quiet desktops. I don't understand the appeal of any of the various streaming devices from the major corps, AppleTV, Chromecast, FireTV, etc. With a small htpc you have total freedom. You ca

Wow. The amount of hate in the comments is amazing. Eveyone knows best! I know many artists who complain about their low streaming royalties turn around and listen to music on Youtube, Pandora, Etc. HYPOCRITES. Do you really care about dire

I deleted my account years ago. At the time there was a web plugin which could be used to automate the deletion of all posts, pictures, etc. I wonder if there is a tool to do this now as I'm sure FB has cracked down on automated deleti

Lots of haters on here! :) Like most of you, I use all browsers to test sites and applications. But Firefox is my main browser on all platforms for a bunch of reasons and I have no issues with performance. It has all the add-ins I need. I l

Quitting facebook is not enough. I recommend blocking all via hosts file. https://github.com/jmdugan/blocklists/blob/master/corporatio...

Installing an ad-blocker does not stop you from supporting FB indirectly. Your contacts, many of whom probably look to you for advice on all things technical, will still see your using FB as an example that it is a good platform. The only r

Does this have a night/dark mode? My favorite iOS client is still Darmesh Patel's "Hacker News". He hasn't updated it since 2015, but it still seems to work better than the others I've tried.

I really believe if people left FB in significantly large numbers to something else with better practices, FB would be compelled to change. Even if they didn't change, at least you would not be a part of their bad privacy practices

True. People still choose to join FB and give their data/privacy away. I don't know what it would take for a rebellion or if there will ever be an open decentralized platform to replace it.

Seriously, why the hell is the US reviving the nuclear weapons program? It's against all humanity. What the world really needs are giant robots. As far as the vulnerability of trucks is concerned, I give you the Fast & Furious film

Facebook is obviously not policing the content on their platform very well. Though it does sound like the FBI could easily run a sting operation and take down the perpetrators who are sharing. Then force Facebook to be text only. ;)

Rise up people and take action. Boycott uber and let them fail. As others have said, there are plenty of other companies in the space ready to fill the void. #deleteuber
