The past isn't exactly an indicator of the future, though. Competition like Roborock's vacuums are laden with cameras and can do full object categorization, including furniture type and layout, but also what's lying around an

I initially thought this, but the technology from competitors like Roborock (I have the S7 maxV) gives me pause: their more modern vacuums not only recognize furniture and layouts, including the chair layout, couch type etc... but they also

Newer robots from companies iterating on the technology, like Roborock, can detect cables/shoes/stuff left on the floor and just drive around them. They're a lot better than what Roomba is selling, and much better at dealin

We've been waiting for our Ioniq 5 Ultimate since our order in Q3 2021...latest from them is that it'll come in "late 2023." 2 years seems optimistic at this point–and dealers have no idea, nor do they communicate about

Why would they arbitrarily limit this to 2022? I converted my account a while back because I had to in order to get more storage, but now I'm punished for giving them money for a year or two? Google is so bad at this!

The technology to do 5K @ 120hz just doesn't exist yet. 5K @ 60Hz is already maxing out Thunderbolt 4.

60hz, there isn't enough port bandwidth in TB4 to handle 5K @ 120hz. Anything coming close to being capable enough is years away still.

There's a good reason for this: Thunderbolt 4 doesn't have enough port bandwidth. TB4 can carry a max of 30Gbps but 5K @ 120hz is 32Gbps. There's no way Apple would do two cables for this, and the next gen of Thunderbolt is a

I had two stolen over the years I owned one in Amsterdam. The first one was recovered in about a week. The second was never found, but they replace it when they don’t find it as a part of that guarantee–which is why it’s actually a really g

It’s interesting because in my 5 years in the Netherlands, the general opinion was the opposite of this: bike theft is such a common occurrence because everyone rides the same, probably stolen and resold, black bike that you should ride a n

Wow, glad to see this. Allbirds is a great business, makes good products, and cares about having an impact on the world/reducing climate impacts - not sure if I’ve ever seen any other S1 filing that mentions climate impacts/goals

The ironic thing about that suggestion is that if you’re reading that article, your Mac is already non-functional anyway, so good luck doing a backup :)

Trust me, I don’t usually care and would have given up – I think it was way too difficult to fix this. I’ve written extensively about switching from macOS to Windows and much prefer using a PC personally: https://char.gd/blo

I had this happen to me on a late 2019 MacBook Pro as well, but dramatically worse: the machine was totally unresponsive, no chimes, no power up, nothing. I tried everything, including the usual PRAM clear and whatever else, but Apple sugge

It's not about privacy rules of any kind, it's about Apple demanding too much control – similar to iOS, I suppose – meaning a bunch of big providers opted out. I get it. https://9to5mac.com/2019/03/18

It's the other way around – Apple imposes certain demands on content owners to appear in the app, one of which is basically treating them as dumb content pipes under Apple's brand – so Netflix, IMO wisely, said no. https:/&#
