I wonder if this means they'll build for Windows ARM64 next or continue ignoring it until after they support it for macOS

Yes – anyone saying otherwise is an early adopter (so most of this site), but for the average user, an ARM-based device won't be perfect at launch. Plenty of apps (and games in particular) will outright not work; buying an Intel device

Apple generates more than 50% of all smartphone App Store revenue, so I'd argue it has a monopoly through that lens https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/07/03/apples-app-store-...

To be fair that Mac was one of the greatest ever made, haha – I blame most of my issues with all of this on stability issues with the 2019 MBP I'm forced to use for work.

Last time I did it was February, and it was just as problematic back then – I'm not sure what advantage it offers over WSL2 (which is containerized) when combined with all of the benefits of Windows these days, for the hassle.

A MacBook Pro doesn't have a HighDPI 4K display, which is where it falls apart. Indeed, it works fine on a MacBook because Retina is not the same thing! :)

Are you on Windows 10's 2020 release? That doesn't resonate with my experience at all – macOS has been vastly more frustrating to deal with on 4K displays in my experience, constant reflowing and forgetting window states, takes fo

I can think of a few reasons not to, as someone who tried to use Linux first when switching away from macOS. The most notable of which is using Linux with a high-density 4k+ display is nightmarish at best; everything is either too big or to

They showed Docker for Mac built for ARM during the keynote, and mentioned that they have been working with Docker for when macOS 11 ships, so I doubt that's going to be the case.

Electron is already compatible with ARM, as Microsoft added support in 2019 to allow targetting ARM64 devices like the Surface Pro X.

Also note that Google allows third-party payment gateways via the Google Play API – Netflix, as an example, dodges the cut with a custom implementation of Stripe! It's a lot more work to implement, but developers actually have the op

Interesting that this is not the case in Canada. My partner is the main visa-holder here, and is tied to her employer in the same way a H1B would in the US, but it also provides a full 'open' visa for her spouse, which allows me

Indeed – Edge is based on the ARM Chromium branch – though oddly enough, you can't get an official Chrome ARM build yet. I'm assuming Apple's push to ARM would make them actually release it. Also just remembered that Visual S

Microsoft already builds ARM Office for the Surface Pro X, and has the only official ARM-based Chromium browser, Edge, as well, so I suspect they'll be well positioned.

Anyone who thinks this hasn't had to deal with a 100mbps connection before. It's not about a single user consuming all the capacity – though that's definitely a factor as well – but allowing simultaneous use of multiple deman

I think we'll always find ways to use up the available bandwidth, even as it expands to new highs – but the real limiter has been how inconsistent high-speed deployments are, so it's difficult to reliably use them today. I have a

Honestly, that sounds faulty – I had a SB2 with similar symptoms and it generally means the thermal paste or something is bad. I was able to return mine for a full replacement, no questions asked.
