I don't think that link reinforces the position you seem to think it reinforces.

If you have the connections, knowing someone inside the company (e.g. from an open source project) and asking them to move your CV inside the company for you will be a faster and cheaper way to get in.

I remember that time at a company event where I told the human resources lady that I didn't even have a LinkedIn profile. She looked at me as if I was a mystical unicorn. (I do have a LinkedIn now - current company pretty much required

The brain is absolutely physical. > A lot of what is in the brain, is not actually to be found in the brain, or by studying it materially. You are talking about consciousness (and perhaps the non-conscious processing that the brain does

Eeehmm. I mean. I can understand not being ideologically aligned with Stallman and Co. I also agree that there must be lots of violations of the GPL out there. Software is often invisible. That said, I don’t think there’s many big companies

Any of the problems above. If you have a problem with bad consultants then solve that. Trying to solve it by jumping into microservices you will just have bad consultants writing your microservices equally badly, or even worse.

I really want an EV. But I want even more a vehicle that can’t be shut down, or even tracked, by its maker. Because then I would not own it. They would.

Micro services don’t solve any of those either.

/Lumitone/Lumatone/ It is a very fun-looking instrument. Isomorphic keyboards are an internet black hole to me. What kind of velocity-sensitive input sensors do these things use? Definitely not regular computer keyboard ones.

No familiarity with HTMX, but familiar with the thing I linked. There, you render the whole page on the server side. The js "picks" which parts it needs to refresh by essentially using specific classes/attributes. It is a ver

+1 to this. I have been a MacOS-exclusive user for more than a decade now and `~/Library/Application\ Support/` is simply ugly and, dare I say, un-Apple like. It has a Window's "My Documents" vibe going on.

Something like HTML-over-the-wire [1]. It means rendering HTML on the server side instead of JSON, and using javascript (mostly) to replace some parts of the current page with some parts of the returned response. It sounds kind of bad, tbh,
