Here are a few options: - keep it but mind the battery as it can expand over time - fix it to the point where you can access then properly wipe the storage with given options on the OS - if you're ultra paranoid, find software that

OP probably has in mind that you can always go back to your previous employer, or find a job in the hot market. I worry people keep thinking it will always be hot. I personally have been listening to podcasts of veteran people in the tech w

In the Expanse series of books/show, human bodies are sent to "the recycler" after death and used for continuing the living. The theory of this is fascinating and it's fascinating to see real life examples.

Resilio Sync or SyncThing works wonders. For photos I use Google Photos though I've been meaning to move that off somewhere else.

Mod support via Workshop is pretty sweet, too. I don't use mods much but when I do, and the game supports it, workshop makes it incredibly easy to plug an go.

I don't use WhatsApp anymore but I do remember a nifty feature where you can swipe right from the contact list to the camera. What was interesting is you can gradually swipe and the camera seemed always on so you can see the preview vi

Card slot is immensely useful for flashing bootable drives for Raspberry Pis or the like. Magsafe has always been great IMO, but I believe you can also charge the laptop via USB C. May just need the right specs on whatever brick you're

I get your metaphor but a store doesn't follow you 24/7 and keeps nagging you to check it. Unless it's Amazon. At least with Amazon you're spending tangible things: money + time (browsing) so you can feel the dent in you

Don't use it for e2e, then? There are plenty other solutions for incredibly sensitive chats (Signal, Tox, etc) I think Telegram is a good trade off for group chats, personally. It's feature rich compared to others.

Is it a matter of affordability, or do you strictly use only open source/free? There are similar projects to Pico-8 like Tic-80 that are open source if you're still interested. Pico-8 is absolutely worth $15 IMO, and the creator m

People don't have as much patience as back then, IMO. There's also a huge influx of video games compared to when Full Throttle came out. I'm also not sure how accessible walkthroughs were so people had to figure out the puzzl

This is a point I see missing in many of the top level posts, here. Restaurants literally went to the easiest solution for a more sanitary and viral transmission-free method to communicate a menu to customers. Of course it isn't going

Machi Koro is one of my favorites. Easy to learn and play. It's a bit like Monopoly but has some turns mid-game where you can't depend on early game properties and instead make rolls that can compound from them. For a deception-ty

That stinks. I'm on Fastmail but its hard point has to do with being based in Australia and the recent government efforts of forcing entities to comply with police inquiries. Fastmail's side of the story: https://fastma
