As a younger guy, I used to really try hard to impress at interviews, regardless of the poor behaviour of the interviewers. Once I got a bit more senior, my tolerance for squirm-inducing tactics reduced drastically. By this time, I had cond

Of topic, but the guy has an interestingly apt name given his job, until you look up the meaning of his surname. I believe Fleischman translates to butcher, so he's "Forrest Butcher", which makes it wholly inappropriate given

GraphQL, much like ORMs, is reasonably efficient (and nice to use) for the less complex stuff, but extremely inefficient for the more complex stuff. A hybrid solution is where I usually end up.

That's a great example, with the arrival time estimates. I wonder whether this effect itself would diminish as more people get to know about it...

I have mentioned this a number of times here on HN, but each time I'm told by other users that it just appears that way because the topic is fresh in my mind... I don't think that's the case.

I disagree. The fact that someone is willing to buy a stake in a company suggests the company has some potential. The fact that someone having bought a company is willing to dump their entire ownership so quickly suggests the company may be

I seem to find happiness when I'm not concerned with finding it, and just fully involved in the situation/moment. Perhaps this is because I don't really pay attention to my happiness level when I'm actually happy, and so

I wonder how this would look if we consider LDL, HDL and triglycerides individually... Perhaps that would be more telling than just considering total cholesterol.

It is annoying to see titles such as this, since SPAs are most certainly not a mistake (the article itself points out that the Youtube SPA is not a mistake). The truth is most devs struggle to implement SPAs well. To implement an SPA well,

I actually think high quality programmers will always be in high demand. Poor programmers will get found out sooner, as the general population becomes more technical.

Haha, indeed. Many times they've just started a company, and that's it. No proper customers, no real revenue. Just a random, unproven lofty idea and a "brand". Very Theranos like, and similarly doomed to fail.

I would imagine that your team picking WP or Drupal and attempting to shoehorn in your use case had more to do with your projects failing than PHP itself. I see that happen a lot in the wild, and not just with PHP. I bet you could have pick
