As a nerd I find much of the daily news to be rather trying. Much of it is of little interest and impact on my day to day life. I send a lot of time reading about technology and developments in our industry and almost no time on regular new

They don't seem to indicate the cost without signing up for this, what do they charge you for the times digest? Also, is there an easy way to get it that isn't a pdf? Sorry to hit you with a barrage of questions, but this is interesting and

This only works when resizing the window? Would an ever-increasing div work? If you floated it right the size would always increase on the left, mimicking the drag and resize action that the user is doing. That said, I get that you're pushi

I don't get it. As someone currently living out of a 40L bag [1], I don't feel any great cognitive load or emotional weight lifted. We sold all of our stuff (books, desks, cars, house) in order to do a round the world trip. The process real

As someone currently on an extended trip (1-2 years total, been travelling for 4+ months thus far) I'm not sure I'd actively encourage my kids to do this before college. My wife and I left our corporate jobs after saving for 3 years and pay

Thanks for the insight. I hadn't seen horizon graphs previously, they're interesting and a great way to compact data and in a way that maintains readability. Regarding line graphs, there is some visibility loss by having a a single line gra

This is interesting, I do want to ask though why you went with stacked graphs as opposed to overlaid line graphs. This makes sense when comparing disparate data points (Load vs Memory vs HTTP Requests), but are you doing this with similar d

If you read up on the it, you'll see that this creates the images on the fly and you can specify a time for it to cache them. You don't have to be constantly recreating the images.

This is about priority. I'd argue that while this reminder is nice, it doesn't go far enough, it is too passive. Actively working towards those goals is the only way you'll actually achieve them. Instead of putting these generic statements

This appeared to be "as designed" in safari. The only solution I'm currently aware of is to save images as progressive jpgs. This gets around the limitation imposed by Apple.

Indeed it would. Certainly less than ideal, but this provides an avenue to easily implement higher DPI graphics. Right now, it seems like the easiest method to get a site upgraded without having to make a ton of changes. Ideally, we'd have

This got me thinking, does a friend request from your boss constitute an inquiry with possibly the same effects? Personally, I try to avoid sending friend requests to subordinates, but it wasn't necessarily for this reason.
