I tried ordering from doordash about 30 minutes ago (approximately 7:20pm PST) and my card got declined, which was presumably because of this outage.

I'm curious about gambling while on a work visa. It seems obvious that spending your vacation in Vegas is acceptable, but what if I think I'm good enough to become a professional poker player and decide to pursue that part-time wh

I am curious about the approach YC takes for foreign founders who are accepted into YC. How do they come to the US for the initial incubation period? What happens after demo day?

As someone a few miles from Google HQ, this doesn't mean very much. Mountain View has been on the "potential" list for at least 2 years, with no movement whatsoever.

Not across the entire US, but in many places there are few or zero practical competitors. And where there are competitors, they're most likely AT&T or Time-Warner, which have similar shitty practices.

It has to be posted in 2 visible places in the place of work (typically a bulletin board). I believe the rationale behind this is to allow other employees to ask about applying for the job. As people below mentioned, it is anonymized and ty

I've transferred several times, and I've never been asked for more than 2 check stubs (i.e. 4 weeks). Also companies have to advertise your salary publicly (at least around the office) for H1B.

Honestly, that was the best anecdote they could come up with? Whatever PR person approved that should be fired. I'm pretty sure 90% of 10 year old boys would pass that test.

The Power of Nightmares [1] is a really scary series of movies about how extremists on both sides use each other to further their agenda. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Power_of_Nightmares

I don't think that argument holds up under examination. If you define safety as the risk of your car getting damaged, then maybe you reduce the probability of any kind of accident, without reference to severity. But you define safety a
