I probably raised a fair bit of suspicion last week when I told the Wells Fargo rep handling a declined CC transaction that I had to look up my mother’s maiden name in my password manager.

Don’t know why you’re fixated on NAS, I use my program mostly from my Mac laptop and desktop, and it allows me to simply replace ffmpeg with ffmpeg-remote, nothing more, which is not true for ssh (thanks double quoting). The thing took me l

Because OpenSSH on Windows is a shitshow. Mounted SMB shares can’t be accessed because they’re tied to login sessions, and you can’t mount them from within an SSH session (IIRC in theory you can, but in practice it never worked for me).[1]

More like you’re not familiar enough with the video encoding performance of a typical NAS that is not in the thousand dollar range. Or what’s a NAS — it can be anything really.

Five hours of driving from the ocean is nothing. I have lived on opposite sides of the world and prepared for both hurricanes and typhoons plenty of times while being further from shore. I have prepared for two recently. These aren’t natura

Even a significantly weaker hurricane can end badly for you if you’re alone in the mountains when it rips through.

I doubt the program’s aimed at patent lawyers. They’re probably casting a wide net hoping to reach people who happen to be close to invalidating prior art to begin with, skipping the search. Or maybe people who’s sued by the same patent tro

Nuclear waste has a density of ~10g/cm^3, so 2000t is about 200m^3. Standard 40’ container has a volume of 59.3m^3, so it’s indeed about 3 to 4 by volume. Of course you shouldn’t pack a container full of something so dense when shippin

Apparently you consider both 2 and 3 ethical, and your ethical company is at least expanding to 2. In that case, your ethical standard is just very different from many (most?) of us; we classify 2 and 3 as “shady as fuck”, and 1 as question
