My guess is they're using Linux in their datacenters and want to be able to write programs for them in Swift. That, or they figured that's where all the "Open Source" action is going to be/an "Open Source"

I will add that any such website should probably wait until AFTER the court case is concluded. I don't know that it is dangerous to expound on an issue you're testifying about, but it SEEMS dangerous in that it would open the door

If all purchases are kept track of on Nintendo's server, then Apple only gets $3 on purchases through an iOS device. Purchases elsewhere (Nintendo's website, Android app, etc) wouldn't be subject, but the tradeoff is Nintendo

It doesn't, but if I GPL my own iOS code, NO ONE will want to use it in an actual shipping iOS app of any significance. The GPL requires the resulting binary to be free of DRM, and the iOS App Store automatically and uniformly applies
