Not saying that won't happen eventually, but it seems a lot more likely to me that on-street public charging facilities will proliferate as EVs gain popularity.

That's an enormous assertion that sounds very classist. Have anything to back it up?

It has political connotations in those specific contexts (and "Murica" is ironic critique of those political connotations). Now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_exceptionalism You're essentially a

You don't get it. Singular "America" in its common usage in English to refer to the US is absolutely not a politically loaded term, at least not in the sense that you are saying. Your assertion to the contrary because you wer

None of that changes the fact that, in English, "America" typically denotes the US and not the Western Hemisphere as a whole. You're splitting hairs over people using a word differently in English than they do in Spanish.

This has always been puzzling to me. Is it not just more-or-less a linguistic thing? In the Anglosphere, "America" refers to the US. Nothing about it is malicious or in contempt of Mexico or any other states in the Western Hemisph

The point I was trying to make is that your belief that access to the mountains is actually the most important thing for lots of people (especially the software developer type) is absurd. If you're living in a city, your day-to-day lif

Shh, west coast people have a higher quality of life than you! They can drive to better-than-average hikes on weekends! That's such a huge part of their identities that nowhere else could possibly be bearable!

Ha. Stop telling yourself that and just enjoy your weather that's also as "west coast" as you can get :)

The comment you're replying to did say "classist" as well. I'm sure you're aware of the US's unequal spread of wealth among different racial groups in its population... You are not personally being called racis

To be that nitpicky asshole, "pizza" as an example doesn't really do anything to argue your case because there's plenty of non-English-language brands that Americans typically pronounce with an English pronunciation (Vol

What exactly was dismissive and/or self-righteous about the comment? A question like "Why is hip-hop associated with black people, but not rock?" is 1) absurdly broad, and 2) beyond the obvious parts, so full of nuance that d

I understand and agree with the egalitarian spirit of your post, but... 1) Housing in the vast majority of the US is inexpensive. Paying $3000 for a tiny room is something that pretty much only happens in SF proper and Manhattan. 2) Crime,

That's very simplistic analysis. The impact of immigration on the wages of native-born workers, even low-skilled ones, is definitely not a settled question [1]. [1] http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2015/06/
