Nice! Is it possible to merge this WASM port back into the wxWidgets main project? It just seems like a valuable target addition and could breathe some life back into wxWidgets.

The "healthy at any size" kick isn't talking about an extra 20 pounds. From the pictures I've seen it is at least an extra 100lbs. The problem is by removing the stigma of being obese, we are ushering in massive health i

Agreed, my suspicion is our problems are 'multi-causal' which is why it makes it so difficult to pin it down to just one thing.

It's worse than that: we are celebrating it Now I'm not saying we need to shame anyone, but saying "healthy at any size" is a terrible lie and in the long term helps no one.

I agree with the article and that this is archaic, but find it very strange how this person gets on a soap box... only to screw over everyone in the end using ports under 80 in the proposal (I guess nobody needs SSH?). If anyone is going to

There is no need to force something iterator style. By all means use a loop if it is more readable. Also, if your iterator style closure body gets very verbose, you can always pull the logic out into a function or closure and pass it in. In

I think unchecked exceptions in Python probably make sense. I think the real issue is people trying to use Python to write large systems instead of scripts. I love python for 100-500 line scripts, but beyond that the ease of use features ge

To some extent, possibly, but it is a very rich type system, and does not have null which in and of itself gets rid of a set of errors. I also find Rust culture tends to be more guarded on panicking due to having such a rich error type (Res

This doesn't surprise me and matches my own experience. Rust literally makes a codebase nearly void of most bug classes with the exception of logic bugs (Unfortunately, in a huge codebase, there can still be tons and tons of logic bugs

My plan is to use Tauri in Rust likely with just the view in TypeScript (will probably move state into Rust). No, it isn't Qt/QML and HTML/JS/CSS aren't as snappy or memory efficient, but with work they can be made

Not true for most of the big hitter crates. MSRV is a big thing and I never understood why, but it was recently explained to me it was so the old tool chains in distros could keep compiling, so the big crates tend to bump MSRV very slowly.
