That is a good start, but also: - exercise. I lift weights and do some cardio. Ease into it as overdoing it can make it harder to sleep. Do in morning or afternoon, not evening. - comfort. If your bed isn't comfortable get a new matres

Dosage is the key. I drink one quick glass of red wine before bed when I'm having jerks and that often does the trick. Sometimes I need a second. But yes, too much alcohol and you will awake later in the night typically...trade offs.

My best guess is it is a form of epilepsy commonly called "negative myoclonus". Essentially it causes involuntary limb movement whenever you relax. When sleep deprived, it can also happen for me at night before bed when I'm r

No, I don't get far enough into sleep for that - it happens right at the point of dozing off. I know what your talking about and do occasionally get those kind as well. I will dream something like I'm walking down a sidewalk and

Interesting suggestion. I've always been a back sleeper and occasionally in the mornings when dozing, side sleeper. I think it would be challenging for me to sleep on my stomach, but it would be definitely worth a try if it comes back.

I used to have really bad anxiety, not as bad anymore, but I have no doubt that once I start missing sleep the anxiety plays a big role. I doubt anyone can go more than a few missed nights w/o getting really anxious - I think it is an

Most sleep specialists are "sleep apnea specialists" in my experience. Can be useful if you have that, but was of limited use during my issues. I had to find my own way. Best of luck. Not sleeping sucks. And I totally agree, all t

I had a very nasty case of insomnia 7 years ago. Without going into details of my associated illness, I went 2-3 months with almost no sleep due to hypnic jerks/sleep starts. When I told people I couldn't sleep, they assumed I jus

I did not work on the kernel itself, but wrote NDIS IM kernel drivers (a shim between NIC driver and TCP/IP - like a firewall or load balancer). I found it lots of fun personally. Back in the day I recall using Windbg and later SoftIce

This is the scenario I am used to using where "last" is called in tail position calling itself, but I see from the other answers there are definitely valid use cases for non-same function recursion as well

Understood, but in practice how often does that really happen? (I'm aware of the contrived 'odd'/'even' example always given, but in the real world, I never had anything like that). Even when I wrote more funct

Templates will be manual, so in reality we are just gluing together various parts to make a whole, with an understanding of how big the topology can get so we can do nice layout.

I found the O'reilly book, "Programming Rust" 2nd edition, to be the best book. It is long but thorough. "The book" might be a better starting point, but is less thorough I thought, and while it left me feeling more

Rust can feel VERY intimidating at first, but honestly once you get over the steep but abruptly ending learning hump, writing Rust is no harder than any other language you are familiar with. I only started writing Rust last October, but fel

I would agree in most cases that is the way it plays out, but then there is no issue either since SEC trusts futures. In the case of direct spot manipulation, spot would in that case lead futures which would no doubt follow suit to whatever

It depends. We are an MSP and we generate the same "building block" network topologies for each of our clients. We are in process of adding auto diagramming, and it will work just fine because we have standardized cloud topology f

Nice - I have no UI skills so will definitely use an existing lib. I know my limits. :-) Did you notice any diff in UI speed with view being in JS/HTML/CSS? Response time seems nice in your video so I'm guessing negligible?

The main website video still shows what looks like a native Macos app. Any pictures/video of the new version? What UI toolkit (React?) and UI library (Material UI?) did you end up using with Tauri? Curious because this is something I&#

I looked at it, but there is very little ecosystem support for other UIs beyond Material. There are partial Macos/Windows (fluent) libs but everything still seems quite immature. I do think it gets better rapidly though.

Not exactly - Rust is a first class supported language. Iow, you can write your app in Rust and just use HTML/JS/CSS for the view.

This is what I thought at first until I dove in more. AFAIK, Tauri makes it possible to write your ENTIRE app in Rust _EXCEPT_ the view. This means you can take events and send them directly to Rust for processing and vice versa. While port
