Honestly, I drop support for IE <=8 for most of my sites. IE9 is pretty good and aside from a few glitches and IE specific stuff (usually 1 small hack around per problem). IE doesn't pose as much of a problem as, say, Android browser or

As much as people crap on art school an art degree can at least pay for itself as long as your willing to work for other, and not, say, make drawings of anime all day. Most of the anti-college rhetoric comes from 1 simple things. Cost of de

This is honestly why I use duckduckgo on any of my dev computers. They don't always have best results, but for stuff like java(script) not only do they have the !js/!java syntax for going straight to the docs but they also don't have over-s

If you can appeal to the 10-12 year old market you appeal to the whole world. Because who, really, considers themselves older than 10-12 on the inside?

Depends who you ask. Ask most people at my school and they will give you an answer of "Java". Is Java their favorite language? No. Its their only language. Also if one cannot understand the philosophy behind the language that they are using

This changes nothing. App developers that needed more than 50mb would just download assets after they downloaded the app. So a small app download (1-2 megs) and then another 500mb of assets. Usually only games did this. This really doesn't

Try to learn one of the hot techs(JavaScript, Ruby) and write a small app in one of those. I've noticed that despite having serious knowledge of Java, C#, C++, my JavaScript skills are what people go after. Secondly, what do you have to sho

My point exactly. Had I had to do something in Smalltalk and not known that, that would have been a fun bug to find had I decided to be frisky and write it as 2+2*2.

This is exactly why when ever I need to do any sort of math in a program I make sure to put parens around any single operation. Even 2*2+2 gets the treatment because god knows there have been people who screwed that up.
