I didn't understand the quoted critism from the article. Smart TRVs are supposed to be able to independently call for heat, isn't that the whole point of them. There's nothing very smart about simply reporting they are too co

Didn't AMD start down the chiplet path way before the horrible SRAM scaling became clear? I was the under the impression they were chasing better yield and this is just another handy gain.

Unless your chip is mostly SRAM and lower power consumption isn't worth the massive cost of 3nm. It's not the normal easy decision for some designs.

No, that is not true. Like the other commenter here, I used Hyperoptic at my previous flat and they were brilliant. If they had coverage at my new place I'd sign up again in an instant

Over the last 10 years I've used Three a few times for a short while but their reception where I am (in London) has always been awful. However, most recently I tried their 5G home broadband. It worked pretty well but I found a much bet

The difference in availability is certainly related to Brcm's involvement but that could just as easily be Brcm's capacity problem, rather than a spat for which there's no official word on (and it makes no difference to consu

The mention is that Wikichip expect optimized SRAM cells but there's nothing to support this. I'm not so sure given the problem they've had so far.

As an end user today with a Pixel 6, what am I supposed to do if I can't rely on them to get this right? I NEED 999 to work. If not for me, then the people around me. Am I supposed to go and ring 999 to test it after every major upda

The other common thing to blame is your PSU. But regardless, things have moved on and for a reliable, serious system you can move the rootfs or ditch the SD card entirely and forget about this issue. Yes, I appreciate this is a more expensi

As someone who lives west, the wait coming into Paddington is really annoying. It's definitely worse so far, compared to previously when you zoomed straight in and then changed. Hopefully they make things line up a bit better. My stati

I'm still waiting for Nintendo to treat us to an N64 mini. And it needs to have 4-player support. Maybe we need to wait for this chip shortage to sort itself out before we can have cool things (at realistic prices).

I think my first exposure to this was parchive files from usenet. That feeling when your 3-month download of some "huge" 700MB iso was corrupt, you load up quickpar and suddenly (quite a few minutes later) it's all fixed! No

That's what I assumed they meant but there's so many layers of correction/protection going on and most of it is non-optional if you want a working system. For example, if you disabled the FEC that's used over high-speed

They need to try a lot harder. They presented to us some 10+ years ago when they had a go at this market previously. The meeting was a waste of time. Their IP was non-existent, we didn't even do the follow up to hear about packaging. T

The last I heard was TSMC's mask count for 3nm chips is back at just under 100. EULV had brought it down but it's right up there again at the latest node. You really need to avoid those all-layer re-spins!

The problem with district heat schemes in the UK (at least) is they are becoming mandatory for new large housing developments but are 100% unregulated every step of the way. The builders do the cheapest job possible because the efficiency t
