The tech part of streaming no longer matters and Netflix is in serious trouble due to their lack of quality content. I'm no fan of Disney, but you have to give it to Bob Iger. He just paid out the nose to buy every piece of valuable I

I’m glad I’m not alone thinking this. 10 years ago it was the best of the best. Now it tries way to hard to be cute and “engaging.” I think media types decided everything needed to be like Vox Explainers, so now everything sounds like it’

The article concludes that there isn't evidence it's being done -- which is different. Apple should not be trusted without evidence. We should be able to verify what our devices are sending to Apple, Google and others.

That’s not the same. A complicated tax code is different than a complicated filing process. We can all hate Intuit for one but not the other.

Intuit does not "keep tax codes complex" -- your legislators do that all on their own. Intuit does try to prevent the IRS from making it easier to file electronically for free -- that much is true.

This is actually a problem with your car. Some cars will issue a play audio command immediately upon connection. If no songs are in your iPhone's music queue, it will dutifully start from the top. Most newer cars won't do this,

The car is much too individualistic for 1984. The train is much more on-theme as it's very controllable by a central authority.

Compare 1940 to 1960, 1960 to 1980, 1980 to 2000 -- then compare 2000 to 2020. 2000 to 2020 is the least impressive 20 year period by a long shot.

The Titanic was built a bit over 100 years ago for 1.5m pounds -- today that'd buy you a nice London two-bedroom apartment. I wonder if in 100 years from now, people will casually be talking about their nice (but modest) London two-bed

I really tried to like it -- but didn't. It wasn't a problem with the material, but the cast. Lyra and Will were just flat as could be. They both seemed bored, not as if they were involved with a multi-dimensional struggle of go

After reading about how Coca-Cola allegedly fought proposed restrictions on SNAP benefits from being spent on sugary drinks by calling legislators racist — and it worked — it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s some truth here. https:/&#x

It’s a Silicon Valley pro-tip: spelling and grammatical mistakes are signs that you’re super busy or too rich to care. There’s a few famous VCs that are apparently too busy to ever capitalize a letter... Too busy to shift!
