I liked that US govt approved the Chips ACT, but I'm skeptic whether that will actually meaningfully change the manufacturing ability in-house. The problem with US corporations is they are run by MBA management who are experts in stock

Google is an Ads company ad the end of the day. They are making 10% revenue from GCloud but still bulk of their profits are from Ads. If they were threatened, Google could have easily owned the cloud. They were the first to a million server

Poor Mayoshi Sun from Softbank. He held a $3.1B position in Nvidia in 2019. That would be 19x at $60B today. He was super bullish on AI and robotics. Just ahead of his time.

The issue with bigger LLM or even MMMs is that the bigger they are the more they are cramming and regurgitating the training data, and that opens up to lawsuits. Making NNs generalize the way humans do it is still a hard problem.

They bought 30+ AI startups, all that for nought? Even Twitter got in the game and made Grok. Wow! So unambitious coming from Apple.

I agree with this move. Tax those who hold single family homes for renting to others and the problems will fix itself. Housing is seen as an investment. If a big portion of rent starts going into taxes, then it doesn’t become a speculative

US does a really shitty job at regulating tech companies - esp privacy and abuse of data. Perhaps because the big tech has captured the regulators with a lobby revolving door. Look at how big a tantrum Apple is throwing regarding 3rd party

With all the layoffs, the big Tech still keep on filing for more H1Bs. How about Congress bans new H1Bs for tech companies for a few years until the market settles?

Seller’s agent sure. Buyer’s agent no so much. So far I have yet to find a buyer’s agent that is worth the price they are charging. Happy to pay them a few $100 for offer writing. But most have little ideas about neighborhoods, builds etc.

And here we are saying AI won’t take jobs. It’s different than industrialization. The definition of AGI is - do what humans do, but better. This will only exacerbate over time.
