Whatever we consume, likely someone has created it. Our economic world rewards creators. Creators that capture some value of their creation. Being a creator and seller is the ultimate cheat code.

PG is an inspiration for me to start writing. It’s an uncomfortable exercise to get started but I agree that clear writing makes you into a clear thinker and communicator.

40M isn’t a small population. Canada is mostly inhabitable and they don’t have great infrastructure. So Canada essentially is small pockets of densely populated cities.

It would work for US and Canada since they’re both fairly rich countries with modern economies. Would be a hard sell for US and Mexico. Many parts of Mexico are still controlled by drug cartels.

Canada has a version of universal healthcare and strong gun control laws. They trade with US. Being a Neighbour of US, they get protection. Canada gets to have the good parts of US without being US. It would be a stupid move for Canadians.

greedflation is real. It’s real because of competition drying up. Lina Khan is either incompetent or corrupt or both. The more consolidation we have at the top, the more power they have to raise their prices without consequences.

You have links to back it up? We pay a decent amount of Federal tax which should be going into infrastructure like roads. The maintenance is paid by states which should come from state property and income taxes.

Baaaaad idea! A Better policy is to get the city planners to open up X% more land to medium and high density housing. We have a supply problem, not a demand problem. Same reason why UBI makes everything expensive. An economy needs universal

IMO the law I would support is no automated marketing calls with AI voice impressions. My immediate term concern for AI is enshittification.

I did a Boeing factory tour back in the day. At the end of the tour they made everyone say “I ain’t going, if it’s not Boeing” as a way to celebrate their superior plane. Ironically the mantra now is “If it’s Boeing, it ain’t going” Oh how

IMO the question for me is how close OpenAI is to controlling their destiny. They raised $11.3B over 6 rounds at current valuation of ~$80B. It could go into the trillions if they were the first to invent AGI and ensure no one else gets it

Apple is a bully. It is a bully well because it needs to show growth. Without growth their stock get hit and the leadership feels pain. Apple is in a tough position. It is losing market share in China to Huawei. The Chinese economy is feeli

That’s because there are stronger rental laws in Germany I presume. In US, you could be on the street if the landlord changes their mind. Also for a lot of Americans rising housing prices is seen as a way to build wealth.
