I like your take on Kotlin being Typescript with a better build system. I often show our Kotlin devs our Typescript apps and say, "see, it's very close... we just add semicolons". Many of them are former Java devs, so they&#x

While I do get annoyed at JS often, I get just as annoyed by Rust. Sometimes, I really just want to read a CSV and create a Map<String, String> from a few of the columns. But oh my god if Rust doesn't make that a nightmare. Is it

While what Quarkus promises sounds delightful, the actual dev experience is still not something I'd recommend. The amount of libraries one can use is still very limited. The compiler errors when one chooses to step outside of the appro

...and as someone that interfaces with clearing firms via SFTP, I can tell you that it's a nightmare. FTP was great for downloading ratio-ed mp3s in the year 1998. It's a terrible way to handle things in 2020. It perplexes me how

The idea of vehicle to vehicle communication is a bit frightening. Imagine the obscenities and insults you yell at other drivers, are now able to be communicated directly to the object of ire.

I first ran into them in Python myself. After using kwargs for the first time, I wondered the same thing. While I try to limit the number of args I pass to functions and methods, sometimes it simply can't be helped. Kotlin is a wonderf

I tried to customize an X13 on their website and it wouldn't give me an option for 32GB. Did you have to do something else to get that configuration?

A tech forum may not be the best place for this discussion, but, you brought it up, and I've considered how I might answers so, you may never see this but... I think your use of David here is a great example of where we may disagree. D

While I see people pushing more and more down into American Fork, Lindon, etc I find it strange that they rarely push North. Pluralsight was in Station Park in Farmington, but I believe they've also moved to Provo.

While I did sincerely consider putting a "(more)" in my statement, our level of homelessness comes nowhere near SF or LA. Not that I don't consider it an issue.

As a former member, I still choose to live here over anywhere else (my employer has given us the option - and I can't imagine a place I'd rather live) I'll agree that the church's focus on hard work, clean living, family

I don't think we can call Brigham Young's attitude and plethora of horrible statements about the African American race as anything OTHER than nefarious. It's systematic racism that "officially" ended in 1978 when bl

Good DNS practice (at least when I did system admin 10 years ago) was ALWAYS having a secondary at some other location/network. Why do we just put some info in Cloudflare and call it good these days?

At the rate the Typescript is releasing, that'd be a support nightmare. Perhaps a better solution is for TC39 to propose optional types. It could be modeled on Typescript for sure, but it would still be backward compatible.

I had considered buying the 15 inch XPS to replace my Thinkpad X1C (6th gen). I really need 32 Gigs to run kubernetes and compile GraalVM images locally. But the latest XPS 15 has the RAM soldered to the board. This means if I want 32 Gigs,
